Lone Voice is the alias of Oxford-based musician Richard Burge, who has been working with Nick Birtley (Guitars), Marc Burgess (Guitars) and Richard Rees (Drums). Lone Voice blends walls of guitars with emotional synths and vocal harmonies to creating expansive soundscapes and heartfelt lyrics. The music draws on a huge range of influences from Bowie to Radiohead, from Slowdive to the Cure, from Tindersticks, Nick Cave, King Crimson and Scott Walker. The music’s key themes are the battles that rage in the mind, the joy of love and the regret of loss. Trying to balance the highs and lows, the anger and frustration with the world as it unfolds. But most of all to try and create music to lose yourself in, to enjoy and to be lifted by.
